As a media professional for over 30 years, I’ve worked in communication & marketing, photography, visual design, and higher education for over 30 years, I truly enjoy working with people in the classroom, on a location photo shoot, or in the office working to find a successful design solution. I am located in Springdale, Arkansas but enjoy travel and have covered assignments from Seattle to Boston.
My current position is teaching as a full-time faculty member in the School of Journalism and Strategic Media at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. As the instructor of Creative Strategies Design and Execution in our Public Relations and Advertising sequence, I train our senior level students to put their theory into practice by giving them both the skills required to research and develop an advertising marketing plan for their clients as well as the hands-on practical skills for ad creation from ideation to production utilizing the Adobe Creative Cloud.
Previously at Northeastern State University, I served as the Director of Photographic Services in the Communications & Marketing department for 14 years and then spend the next 15 years in the classroom teaching Visual Communication, Media, Photography, Design, and Communication. I love interacting and training students who are just discovering their passions in life.
Apart from my full-time job at the U of A, I do freelance photography and graphics work and also serve as minister of music for a local church, which allows me to enjoy another passion in my life… music. Serving the Lord through leading in worship is a fulfilling and wonderful part of what I do.
